Fort Collins Museum of Discovery

The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery is where all ages can explore science, history, and cultural arts. They are a public-private partnership between the City of Fort Collins and the non-profit Discovery Science Center.

The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery is a space where you can discover the interconnectedness of things. For example, it talks about how music affects flora and fauna as in how they are affected by sound, light can be manipulated to make plants grow better, or bicycles which rely on fertilizers from agriculture.

By featuring an on-site archive & collection, a 360° immersive theater, exciting programs and events, unique local products in the museum store, and many exhibitions – there are so many reasons to spend the day with us.

This hands-on museum has been really popular with our patrons. Since opening in 2012, the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery has created lots of fun exhibits and kept kids interested by adding different kinds of science, natural history, and art to one place.

You’ll be introduced to our solar system and the universe, try out different musical instruments and follow Fort Collins’s development from its founding.

OtterBox also has a 39-foot domed screen on site which is capable of doing things like showing films, hosting lectures, and giving live performances.

From 10 am to 4 pm, the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery’s second and third floors are open free of charge. The first and second levels can be accessed for $12.50 per person with a student

If you’re interested in purchasing tickets for the theater, you will have to purchase them for an extra fee. Yet another option is to visit the museum’s gift shop or cafe on-site. The museum is located just east of the Lee Martinez Community Park and offers a free parking space that can be used.

The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, located at 408 Mason Court, has hands-on science exhibits and the history of northern Colorado. There are displays about local history, wildlife, and interactive science exhibits as well as traveling exhibitions in this museum. The Digital Revolution exhibit tells stories about the development of digital technology like computers.

The Schatz Family Exploration Zone includes hands-on activities for kids and is available to researchers. The archive has a local history collection.
